LOCA Arts Education invites the public to an outdoor Art Talk Saturday May 10, 9:00am-10:30am at South Laguna Community Gardens. Award winning horticulturalist Ruben Flores will lead a tour of the amazing gardens, then compose a rustic floral centerpiece as everyone watches. Vegetables, fruits, and flowers will be discussed.
“I’ll be using lots of everyday garden cuttings,” he said. “I’ll start with a branch or driftwood, and build using stalks, leaves, berries, and wildflowers.” Color, weight, texture, shape and negative space will be discussed. Upon conclusion, his finished mothers day centerpiece will be auctioned to the highest bidder, and proceeds will support LOCA Arts Education.
Coffee will be provided. Registration is required, and upon registering everyone will receive a savings of 10%-off merchandise at Laguna Nursery, good May 1 through May 20.
