LOCA Arts Education invites everyone to its Annual Members Meeting on Sunday September 23, 11:00am-1:00pm at the Healy House on the Sawdust Festival grounds at 935 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach. Street parking is available.
The champagne brunch will feature a tile glazing activity and an exciting talk about public murals by local artist Mike Tauber. Mike’s local paint and tile projects can be seen at Whole Foods Market, Hagan Place apartments, the Mermaid Street wall, and more. He also has regional projects in Citrus Ranch Park in Tustin, the Fullerton Transit Center, and the Wilshire Grand Center in Los Angeles. Mike will share how his projects evolve from the studio to the street.
Attendees will be invited to decorate a tile as part of the city-wide Festival of Mosaics program. Silhouettes of local wildlife will be glazed and fired, and will become a part of a community public mural installation in November. The mural wall is on Glenneyre Street in front of the Neighborhood Congregational Church in Laguna Beach.
LOCA Arts Education will also introduce its exciting schedule of art classes, Art Club Events, and workshops for families, residents, and visitors of Laguna Beach. To round out the fun, there will be a Table of Treasures for sale, silent auction items, opportunity drawings, as well as hand decorated art shirts, and more.
LOCA Arts Education is a non-profit organization and all proceeds go to support LOCA programs.
