Drypoint is a way to make etching plates without using anything more than a needle tool and a plastic plate. Drypoint works equally well with playful and representational images.
First session will cover making plates and proofing. Second class will cover printing options including, various inks, c’aran d’ache crayon printing, monoprints as opposed to edition printing, hand printing, and hand coloring finished prints
We will be working small, 4×6” so bring in several small images – photographs, cartoons, sketches. at this size.
All images will be reversed in the printing process, so if this is important to you reverse your images on a photocopy machine.
This class is held on two consecutive Wednesdays in the Art Room of the Susi Q.
