LOCA Arts Education will host a free pop up studio at Laguna Beach Arbor Day, March 6, 3:00-5:00pm at Aliso Beach Park in South Laguna. Adults, kids, and families are invited visit the LOCA booth and create a kelp artwork.
Like trees, kelp grows in forests, uses photosynthesis to create food from sunlight, has holdfasts which are similar to roots, and provides habitat for many creatures and organisms. Participants will be invited to be photographed holding their art, and LOCA will later compose the photos together to form a giant kelp forest.
No registration required. Aliso Beach Park, 31130 S. Coast Highway, metered parking lot at Aliso Beach, use pedestrian underpass to walk to the inland side.
