Nelson Coates is a multi-award-winning Production Designer of Hollywood feature films and television. Hocus Pocus 2, In The Heights, Crazy Rich Asians, On the Basis of Sex, and The Proposal are among his many critically acclaimed motion pictures, and The Morning Show and Home Before Dark are among his many television projects. Using his keen sense of observation and research skills, Coates plays the role of a cultural anthropologist in creating and shaping believable characters, events, and environments depicted in the narrative form. The spirited speaker, who has included work by several Laguna Beach artists in his set designs, will share amazing stories about his work and career in this “must see” presentation.
