LOCA is presenting an Art Talk in a new quarantine friendly format. Although we will miss getting together, we dont have to miss a stimulating presentation by a Laguna Beach treasure.
You may be familiar with the Vanessa Rothe Fine Art Gallery on Ocean Avenue in Laguna Beach which she owns and operates. There she represents top level realists and impressionists from around the world, bringing exquisite pieces from Russia, France, and Nordic countries to Laguna Beach as well as exhibiting some of Americas finest contemporary painters.
Rothe writes for several art magazines and has been West Coast Editor for Fine Art Connoisseur for over a decade. She is also the Educational Director for the American Impressionism Society.
For years Rothe has been a successful independent curator. She regularly creates theme based exhibitions in New York, Paris and California. Her shows like Equestrian, Likeness and the annual Realism Without Boarders have toured various national venues, including Laguna Beach, while her shows The Hunt and Fine Art and Fashion have mounted at the Salmagundi Club in New York City.
Rothe comes to each of these parts of the art world through her deep love of painting. She is a skilled painter whos work is exhibited with the finest contemporary realists in the nation. Look for her at her easel in the gallery as you walk through town! She has generously offered to share with us a pdf version of an exhibit she curated on Impressionism.
